PANALUX ESTABLISH FACILITY IN WALES, GROW UK OPERATIONS
To underscore a commitment to the expanding Welsh TV/drama and film markets, Panalux has partnered with long time Cardiff-based Gaffer Ceiron Jenkins to establish Panalux Wales.
LONDON – 02 October 2015 – Panalux, the leading provider of lighting rental equipment for film, television, and media production, announce the opening of Panalux Wales. The only major lighting rental provider with a physical presence in the Welsh market, Panalux have partnered with well-known and respected Cardiff-based Gaffer Ceiron Jenkins to formally expand the company’s UK presence to Wales, a market attracting an increasing number of large-scale television drama and film projects.
“Wales is fast becoming more and more attractive for a wide variety of larger jobs, which speaks to the top-notch locations, favourable tax incentives, and local experience in the Welsh market,” says Snehal Savjani, Panalux Group Managing Director. “Subsequently, Panalux are very pleased to demonstrate a commitment to helping develop Wales as a diverse UK filming location. Expanding our footprint to this market enables us to offer better, faster, more hands-on service and equipment rental to valued Welsh clients.”
A significant addition to the Panalux management team, Ceiron Jenkins, General Manager, Panalux Wales, will work closely with the company’s Regional Director and Head of TV Drama John Lawton to service business and head up operations at the new facility. With more than 30 years of experience in television and film, including for the BBC and Channel4, Ceiron brings in-depth understanding and knowledge of the Welsh market, having worked closely with major broadcasters and production companies.
“Panalux’s expansion into Wales gives Welsh-based companies greater opportunity to enhance their productions through a wider range of equipment not previously offered,” Ceiron explains.
Additionally, Panalux live events subsidiary Panalux Broadcast & Event have recently broken into the Welsh market, providing lighting for BBC Wales Cymru/ S4C coverage of this year’s Welsh elections. Keen to expand studio and broadcast work in Wales, Panalux Broadcast & Event will use the new location as a catalyst and base to build relationships with local Lighting Directors and Gaffers, supplying a catalogue of diverse kit from the Panalux and Panalux Broadcast & Event equipment stock.
Despite having worked successfully in the Welsh market for some time, Panalux deliberately chose to establish a physical location and build a locally-based workforce to service Wales and the West Country rather than continue to transport equipment from London or Manchester.
Our new address in Wales is: Unit J2 Capital Business Park, Cardiff CF3 2PX
