Account Manager

We have an excellent opportunity to join the Sales team of a leading lighting rental company supplying equipment to film, television, and commercial projects across Europe. The position is based at our London branch in our Rental Office. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who will procure new business and maintain on-going relationships with clients providing them with support, advice and information. In addition, they will manage customer accounts from initial telephone call, through negotiations and the provision of equipment, to the final approval of invoices. We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who works well both individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Answer external telephone calls to the standard set out in the company policy;
  • Maintain the Panalux Gaffer diary service;
  • Receiving equipment requests and providing quotes accordingly;
  • Negotiating deals for equipment rental, ancillary facilities and hire of labour utilising substitution of equipment on list for equipment on shelf without compromising the logistical/creative elements of the shoot;
  • Overseeing the daily running requirements of on-going productions;
  • Organise lighting crew according to their individual circumstances;
  • Maintain good relations with Panalux’s pool of freelance labour and distributing work on a fair basis;
  • Provide technical and industry based support and advice;
  • Monitor, maintain and strive to improve Panalux’s market share especially within the long term hire sectors;
  • Ensure each production is financially managed and controlled to ensure a profitable return is achieved whilst maintaining good client relationships;
  • Approve invoices, ensuring all relevant costs have been charged on;
  • Represent the company at industry and social events;
  • Provide advice and suggestions with regards to the purchase of new equipment and systems development;
  • To assist Panalux in developing its position as an industry leader.

Requirements
  • A technical understanding of lighting products & the substitution of equipment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial as this is a principal part of the account handler’s day-to-day activities;
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel;
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve critical deadlines;
  • Strong business acumen;
  • Excellent negotiation skills;
  • Diligent and attentive to detail.

Senior Software Developer / Junior Architect

We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic Software Developer/Junior Architect to join our in-house team working on an enterprise level ERM software application used at all our global locations. This individual is detail oriented, with inquisitive mind and experienced in thinking thoroughly while considering all the interactions and impacts of scalable, enterprise level set of applications. Led by our Software Architect, this role is responsible to ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure tested software applications, on time and on budget. Working within an Agile development environment shall utilise software engineering best practices such as object-oriented methodologies, configuration management, testing strategies and planning. And shall contribute to overall design approach and problem solving in areas such as application performance, user experience.

Responsibilities
  • Understand stakeholder requirements and how they translate in application features
  • Understand, design and manage intricate relations and dependencies of the enterprise-based architecture and application
  • Experienced in design and development of complex enterprise applications
  • Understand and design conceptual and logical data models and data flows
  • Develop high-quality software design and architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers to maintain architectural vision and software quality

  • Knowledge of data mining and expertise in SQL

Generator Technician

There is an excellent opportunity for a proactive self-starter to take on the role of Generator Technician in our North West London office. The successful candidate will be part of the team responsible for the maintenance, service, repair and refurbishment of equipment and plant to the required standards of safety, functionality and presentation. They will be providing support to the Generator Manager to assist with the maintenance and modernisation of generator equipment to keep our fleet abreast of the latest technologies.

Summary of Job Tasks
  • Undertake generator and equipment rewires;
  • To undertake standard service activity including major and minor diesel servicing;
  • Carry out maintenance and inspection on a planned basis to recommended standards;
  • Attend breakdowns;
  • Fault finding and rectification in both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines;
  • To communicate effectively with colleagues on a regular basis;
  • Support global and regional generator activities;
  • Assist with procurement and design of new products or developments.

Person Specification
  • Electrically qualified to City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent, and testing and inspection qualified to City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent;

Summary of Job Tasks
  • To assist the Operations management on their shift as required/directed with logistical movements of equipment between Panalux locations;
  • To be completely responsible/accountable for their designated jobs/job parts in ensuring that everything requested for the Customer is supplied to the Customer in the required timescale and to the expected standard of quality;
  • As and when required, carry out the driving of vehicles including HGV – deliveries/collections/any vehicle movement on or off from Panalux locations (if fully licensed to do so by UK Law) to a defined destination in an efficient, timely, safe, and law-abiding manner;
  • To carry out the unloading/scanning of equipment from vehicles or the Customer Returns area by yourself or with Panalux/Sub Contract Staff and to lead the team if required whilst completing in full all the required processes/ procedures and administration;
  • Ability to follow a shift pattern, which includes weekend working as required;
  • Able to work additional hours at short notice;

This is a good opportunity for a reliable, self-starting applicant with good communication skills to join our busy team responsible for the testing, maintenance and preparation of a wide range of modern lighting equipment. Experience in the entertainment lighting industry or some electrical knowledge gained either through qualifications or experience would be an advantage.

Applicants should have a positive, flexible attitude to work and the ability to perform well under pressure in order to meet the demands of a busy, often unpredictable industry.

Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and are based on a forty hour week.

EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

The role is a shift based position and all successful applicants will be introduced to our multiskilling programme to gain experience in all departments LED, Control, Specialist Lighting and more. Experience in the entertainment lighting industry or some electrical knowledge gained either through qualifications or experience would be an advantage.

Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and are based on a forty hour week.

EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN – NIGHT SHIFT

Working as part of a busy night shift team responsible for the loading and unloading of vehicles and the preparation, testing and maintenance of an extensive range of modern lighting equipment and accessories, the successful candidate will be self-motivated with a positive, flexible attitude to work and will be required to work “hands on” throughout the night shift.
