Group Health and Safety Manager

Department: Health & Safety, Facilities & Security
Reporting to: Managing Director, EMEA
Responsible for: Security / Cleaners
Coordinating with: Senior Management Team, Department Heads and Managers
Location: Harlesden, London with some UK travel
Working hours: 40 per week
Contract: Permanent

Job role

As Group Health & Safety Manager, you will work across our UK sites and support the wider EMEA region, holding responsibility for compliance and best practice across all operations and reinforcing a health and safety focused culture. You will also be responsible for the management of site facilities, budget and projects to develop key services and maximise efficiency.
The successful candidate will be an experienced health and safety professional with a strong background in electrotechnical services. You will be a self-starter with strong leadership, communication and influencing skills.
This role represents an exciting opportunity to work across the health, safety and facilities space in a dynamic and growing company, using and developing your skillset as a member of the Panalux management team.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the health, safety and facilities management for Panalux UK, Direct Digital UK and Black Island Studios
  • Responsible to the Panalux Board of Directors for maintaining company compliance with Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice
  • To have up to date knowledge of the current Health & Safety, environmental and workplace legislation
  • To champion and promote occupational Health & Safety at Panalux
  • Undertaking investigations when necessary into incidents on or off site which affect Panalux UK, Direct Digital UK, Black Island Studios, its staff or customers with the objective of understanding cause and effect and where appropriate creating formal reports detailing recommended corrective actions
  • To provide guidance and support internally and externally using Health & Safety and facilities management expertise
  • Responsible for the safe upkeep of the facilities, including liasing with contractors to ensure work done is completed in line with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures whilst on site

  • Requirements
  • Electrotechnical background with an industry recognised qualification
  • A relevant Health & Safety qualification (such as NEBOSH or NCRQ Diploma)
  • Health & Safety and site management experience within a similar environment (including working with electrical items)
  • Team leadership and contractor management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work well with a wide range of people
  • Drive and enthusiasm with the ability to promote and shape a positive Health & Safety culture
  • A commitment to continuous professional development

    Account Manager – Waxlow Road

    Job role
    We have an excellent opportunity to join the Sales team of a leading lighting rental company supplying equipment to film, television, and commercial projects across Europe. The position is based at our London branch in our Rental Office.

    The successful candidate will be a self-starter who will procure new business and maintain on-going relationships with clients providing them with support, advice and information. In addition, they will manage customer accounts from initial telephone call, through negotiations and the provision of equipment, to the final approval of invoices. We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who works well both individually and as part of a team.

    Responsibilities
  • Answer external telephone calls to the standard set out in the company policy;
  • Receiving equipment requests and providing quotes accordingly;
  • Negotiating deals for equipment rental, ancillary facilities and utilising substitution of equipment on list for equipment on shelf without compromising the logistical/creative elements of the shoot;
  • Overseeing the daily running requirements of on-going productions;
  • Provide technical and industry based support and advice;
  • Monitor, maintain and strive to improve Panalux’s market share especially within the long or short term hire sectors;
  • Ensure each production is financially managed and controlled to ensure a profitable return is achieved whilst maintaining good client relationships;
  • Approve invoices, ensuring all relevant costs have been charged on;
  • Represent the company at industry and social events;
  • Provide advice and suggestions with regards to the purchase of new equipment and systems development;
  • To assist Panalux in developing its position as an industry leader.

  • Requirements
  • A technical understanding of lighting products & the substitution of equipment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial as this is a principal part of the account handler’s day-to-day activities;
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel;
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve critical deadlines;
  • Strong business acumen;
  • Excellent negotiation skills;
  • Diligent and attentive to detail.

    The role is based on a 40 hour week, shift basis, with some rostered weekend working, salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience.
